Albert G. Prodell Middle School’s library and makerspace are hubs of activity all year long!
According to librarian Ann-Marie Kalin, the library is a space that inspires and nurtures discovery. It houses tools and space for students to work independently and collaboratively for classwork, competitions and learning from any discipline.
Sixth grade science students recently worked with Mrs. Kalin on Innovation Labs – a place to create, discover, design and build.
Groups of students read about Science Giants including Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton and Nikola Tesla, used their coding skills with Ozobots based on Victorian England, practiced basic code functions as delivered in Google's Santa Tracker and performed low-tech collaborative creations through paper constructed snowflakes and “Marley's” paper chains.
