Welcome to the home of the ‘Renewal’ Project! On Jan. 13, 2015 residents approved the capital project bond referendum by a vote of 1,421 to 585. The $48.5 million “Renewal” Project is intended to create improved instructional space, preserve the basic integrity of the district’s school buildings, promote energy efficiencies, and improve athletic fields and resources for the schools and community. These aerial photos showcase the reconstructed parking lot at Shoreham-Wading River High School, making for a more efficient entry and exit to the school and North Shore Public Library. Other updates include the bright new main office suite and sparkling new kitchen and cafeteria.

SWR Renewal Project Updates – August 19, 2019
Much has been accomplished over the summer months at Shoreham-Wading River High School including the main office front entry and hallway walls taking shape as well as the installation of new concrete walls, ductwork and ceiling work in the cafeteria in progress. Students, staff and community residents will soon see the completion of the new roadway, walkway and bus loop that will lead up to the school and public library, creating a safer, more streamlined entry and exit for all.
SWR Renewal Project Updates – July 19, 2019
Phase II of our capital improvements are in progress at Shoreham-Wading
River High School. In the past few weeks, site work for additional
parking and a new roadway are taking shape, the cafeteria’s floor and
ceiling have been removed and trenching of the floor is in progress.
Demolition of the main office ceiling and floor have been completed.

SWR Renewal Project Updates – August 10, 2018
At Prodell, administrative offices are taking shape, with ductwork,
lighting fixtures and electrical devices installed. The building’s
library walls are up and lighting and electrical are in progress.
Ceiling grids and tiles are being installed in both spaces. In addition,
the concrete sidewalks, curbs and asphalt have been completed in the
school’s back parking lot. Additional windows have been replaced at the
High School.
SWR Renewal Project Updates – August 1, 2018
In addition to the completed locker installation at the High School,
students, staff and other SWR Wildcats fans will start the academic year
in new and comfortable bleacher seats in the gymnasium to cheer on the
athletic teams. The walls are up in the main office at the Middle School
and the cement wall for the new hallway is taking form for the new
addition. Outside at Prodell, concrete curbs and sidewalks are also
materializing. Significant progress is ongoing with additional interior
mechanical and electrical rough-in, ductwork, lighting fixtures and
ceiling work and, depending on the weather, the asphalt parking areas.
SWR Renewal Project Updates - July 19, 2018
The cafeteria addition at Prodell Middle School is taking shape with the
concrete slab in place. The main office walls are in the construction
phase. At the High School, the athletic lockers have been replaced and
various windows have been installed.
SWR Renewal Project Updates - July 10, 2018
Great weather was helpful in this past week’s progress which included
demolition of the library and administrative offices at Prodell Middle
School. The electrical and plumbing rough-in phases are in progress, in
which electrical cables are pulled through studs and inserted into wall
and ceiling boxes, and water supply and drain pipes are run through
bored holes in the studs and other framing members. Exterior work
includes the gas utility piping, storm drainage work and asphalt removal
as part of the site and parking improvements, which will continue
throughout the summer. The High School work includes the demolition of
the gymnasium bleachers and removal of the physical education lockers to
ready for replacement. The week ahead will include continued interior
demolition and additional rough-in work and exterior concrete site
demolition.
SWR Renewal Project Updates – April 26, 2018
The District held a walk-through and groundbreaking ceremony at the
Middle School on Apr. 18 to provide the Board of Education and members
of the community with an update on the school’s recently completed and
upcoming projects.
During the tour, participants were shown recently completed updates to
the middle school, which included new exterior doors and windows;
filtered water fountains and carbon monoxide detectors; roofing and a
new phone system; additional AEDs, and the resurfaced track and
reconditioned football field.
Upcoming projects include the kitchen and café addition, site and
parking improvements, library reconstruction and new quarters for the
main office, guidance department and nurse’s office.
SWR Renewal Project Updates - August 18, 2017
This week’s progress includes exterior site work, retaining wall and
fire service upgrades, and brick and sidewalk installation on the new
addition at Wading River School. The interior work at WRES
continues with new bathroom tile and classroom casework.
Miller Avenue’s bright interior features a new ceiling, mechanical duct
work, painting and new flooring, while the outside work saw the
installation of new curbs and preparation for the sidewalk.
The fall sports season is gearing up at Prodell Middle School with the
installation of track surfacing and athletic field grading.

Bright, polished, graphically patterned flooring is ready for the feet of students in September at Wading River School! This week’s progress at Wading River also included internal lighting improvements, as well as continuation of exterior work on the classroom addition, new cafeteria and kitchen and the parking area modifications.
SWR Renewal Project Updates - August 4, 2017
As part of the District’s community-approved Renewal bond, the
construction projects at Miller Avenue and Wading River schools are advancing over the summer months. Wading River School saw the installation of new vinyl composition tile floors;
outside work conducted and new windows installed on the new cafeteria,
kitchen and classroom addition; high quality ductwork for improved
distribution of air; and front drainage and bus, car and parking area
reconfiguration.
Miller Avenue School’s upgrades include exterior site work
and the reconfiguration of the buses, cars and parking areas; high
quality ductwork in the gymnasium to improve distribution of air
efficiency; an upgraded electrical panel and system in the custodian
room; and outside progress of the all-purpose room which will receive
a new ceiling and ductwork for air conditioning.
The track at Prodell Middle School is under reconstruction.
