Science Research

Our research program aims to cultivate students' scientific research skills and support them in conducting original research, leading to participation in competitions and potential publications. Starting with an introductory course supported by Cold Spring Harbor Lab's BarCode Long Island program, students progress to developing their own research hypotheses or participating in programs like SPARK at Brookhaven National Laboratory.

Introduction to Science Research:

This year-long course guides students with no prior research experience through the entire scientific research process, from identifying a topic of interest to conducting field work and presenting results. Students develop skills in literature review, proposal writing, data collection and analysis, and scientific communication, culminating in the presentation of their work at various competitions

Science Research:

This full-year course, designed for students who have completed Introduction to Science Research, guides participants through developing and conducting their own research projects. Students refine their research hypotheses, conduct literature reviews, gather and analyze data, and present their findings at various competitions, with opportunities for summer science programs and training sessions.

Advanced Science Research I / II:

This two-year course, designed for students who have completed Science Research, focuses on advancing research skills and developing independence in the scientific process. Students work on their chosen topics, seek mentored research opportunities, and participate in various science competitions, communicating their results through papers and presentations.
