Drama Club Shines on the Stage

The High School Drama Club performed three stage productions of “She Kills Monsters: Young Adventurer Edition” on Oct. 23-25. The students rehearsed for months under advisers, Maryanne Agius and Dennis Creighton, to bring this creative and amazing show to the Shoreham-Wading River community.
Adapted for a high school audience, “She Kills Monsters” is a dramatic comedy written by Qui Nguyen in 2011 about Agnes, played by Lila Grosso, on a quest to better know her deceased sister, Tilly (Natalee Cortina), by playing a Dungeons and Dragons module that Tilly had written. The plot takes place in the real and imaginary game world. Additionally, the audience was meant to feel as if they, too, had joined the story, as the seating was entirely onstage.
Mr. Creighton said the inspiration for choosing “She Kills Monsters” was his love of the game. “The students did an excellent job of bringing elements of this popular game to life on stage,” he said.
The district congratulates the students, cast and crew for truly outstanding and entertaining performances that the community will not soon forget.
