Amazing Hero Art

Middle School seventh grade students were not only awe-stricken but truly inspired by a visit with world-famous speed artist Rob Surette who used his portraiture talents to motivate youngsters to seek their inner power to change the world.
Artist and public speaker Rob Surette is known for his six foot paintings that he creates live and in one to five minutes while delivering positive and motivational messages. He has appeared on Good Morning America, The Tonight Show and on The Oprah Winfrey Show and is best known for speed-painting portraits of the Statue of Liberty, Mother Teresa and Martin Luther King, Jr.
During the assembly, Surette utilized amplified music, dramatic light and a video screen to flash positive messages while he painted, in less than three minutes, large scale portraits of Albert Einstein, Abraham Lincoln and Mother Teresa. His message, while simultaneously painting, was that a person can make their brain a superhero and that believing in oneself can change the world. Kindness can also be a superpower.
“Your energy and attitude can change the world around you,” Surette said. “You can turn the world upside down with what is inside you.”
