Shoreham-Wading River’s ‘SnugBuzz’ places in Top 50 in Virtual Enterprise Competition

The High School’s Virtual Enterprise firm “SnugBuzz” recently placed in the Top 50 teams who presented their virtual firm’s business plan at the Long Island University Virtual Enterprise Business Plan Competition. The competition hosted more than 2,300 students and 150 firms from across the New York State and New England areas.
SnugBuzz is an innovative sleep solutions company. Their signature product, the vibrating blanket alarm clock, is a revolutionary device that transforms how people start their mornings. It operates on the principle of a gentle wake method, utilizing strong, rhythmic pulses rather than a harsh, blaring alarm clock sound, to rouse users from even the deepest sleep.
Virtual Enterprise mimics real-world commerce as students simulate a business while learning entrepreneurship and business operations in a classroom setting. Students assume specific roles in the company, such as CEO, marketing manager or CFO. VE teams create business plans, develop products and attend trade shows to engage in competitions against other VE student-run firms. VE firms are ranked on the business overview, oral presentation and Q&A competency scores.
The district congratulates CEO Thomas Corso, CFO Owen Crowley, VP of Design Lucas Diamond, COO Chris Filippi, CMO Lucas Maxwell, CSO Anthony Passarello and CTO Ethan Reilly on this outstanding accomplishment. The VE team has moved up to the Championship Round Business Plan Competition to be held later this month.
