Board of Education Celebrates Talents of Students and Faculty

The Board of Education and Central Administration celebrated the talents of students and faculty during the Feb. 10 public meeting.
Wading River School students first took center stage to expertly perform a selection from the recent school play, “Finding Nemo, Jr.” Prodell Middle School students Nora Andersen and Brendan Johnson then wowed those in attendance with a stellar vocal rendering of the song “Notice Me Horton” from the recent school performance of “Seussical, Jr.”
The District also recognized faculty who had received the Bright Light Award, sponsored by the Association of Suffolk Supervisors for Educational Technologies. The award recognized educators whose integration of technology into the classroom was a seamless process and enhanced student learning experiences. Elementary librarian Brittany LaValle (2026), Wading River School teacher Kimberly DiPaola (2025) and Director of Technology and Cybersecurity Peter Esposito (2024) were each recognized for their technological contributions to the district and its students.
