Shoreham-Wading River High School Journalism and the Media Production Club recently attended the 9th annual Broadcast Alliance for Senior High (BASH) awards at Hofstra University.
Those in attendance enjoyed lectures from individuals in the industry and were able to enjoy an awards ceremony, where SWR won second place for Best School News Package (Aubrey Schleiffelder and Joan Yantsos covering the National Honor Society Blood Drive) and third place for Best Sports Package (Alexa Guinther and Mia Mangano covering the Gilmore Game). Also nominated were Chelsea De Collibus and Alyssa Wood (for their work on SWR’s March news broadcast) and Steven Kelban and Reilly Kenneally (for their reporting on the Peer Mentoring Music class here at SWR).
