After spending the school year exchanging letters and getting to know each other, kindergartners at Miller Avenue School and fifth graders at Wading River School finally had the chance to meet their pen pals in person!

The fifth graders visited Miller Avenue School for a special day with their kindergarten buddies, putting faces to the names they had been writing to throughout the year. Students enjoyed spending time together, sharing conversations and working together in a hands-on activity – building and designing birdhouses. They also completed “Buddy Books,” filling in information they learned about each other throughout the school year.

The visit was a wonderful way for students to celebrate the friendships they created through their letters and make lasting memories before the school year came to an end!
