Thank You for Your Service to SWR!

The Shoreham-Wading River Board of Education honored several individuals for their dedication, service and contributions to the district during its June 23 meeting.
The evening began with a recognition of the district’s retirees. Administrators shared personal reflections on each retiree’s career, thanking them for their years of service and the lasting impact they have made on students, colleagues and the Shoreham-Wading River school community. The board expressed its appreciation for the retirees’ commitment to education and wished them well in their next chapter.
Congratulations to the following: Ann Augsbach, Melissa Cosgrove, Peter D’Elena, Peter Esposito, Kristine Hanson, Brian Heyward, Mary Hygom, Jeffrey Kessler, Lynda Kranidis, Lisa McEvoy, Alan Meinster, Sherry Neff, Tracy O’Lear, Anne Marie Tarulli, Lucille Fedan, Tressa Gladysz, Susan Hakola, Anthony Marcellini, Barbara McCarrick, Patricia Rogers, Laura Sager and Kevin Vann.
The Board of Education also recognized Gina Bettenhauser, president of the Wildcat Athletic Club, for more than a decade of dedicated service and support of Shoreham-Wading River athletics. During the recognition, Board President Thomas Sheridan shared remarks from SWR coaches, who praised Bettenhauser’s commitment, leadership and contributions that have helped enhance athletic opportunities for student-athletes throughout the district.
The final recognition of the evening honored Board of Education Trustee Michael Lewis for his 10 years of service and leadership. The board thanked Lewis for his dedication to the students, staff and families of the Shoreham-Wading River community, acknowledging the positive impact he has made during his decade of service.
