District Announces New Administrative Appointments

As the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District prepares for the 2026-2027 school year, several new administrators will step into leadership roles across the district. The appointments come as longtime administrators retire, ensuring a seamless transition and continued support for students, staff and the school community.
Dr. Jennifer Lewner has been appointed assistant superintendent for curriculum, instruction and assessment. Most recently, Dr. Lewner served in the same role in the Valley Stream 30 Central School District. Before being appointed assistant superintendent in 2018, she served as the district’s administrative director for 21st century learning and as an assistant principal. Earlier in her career, Dr. Lewner was a teacher with the New York City Department of Education, as well as at Scholars' Academy in Rockaway Park and the Brandeis School in Lawrence.
Dr. Meg Sheehan will join the district as assistant superintendent for human resources. She comes to Shoreham-Wading River from the Port Washington School District, where she most recently served as a principal. Her administrative experience also includes serving as an assistant principal in Port Washington, a principal in the Freeport School District, head of school at North Shore Montessori School and administrator, and teacher educator at the West Side Montessori School and Center for Montessori Education. Before serving in these leadership roles, Dr. Sheehan spent several years in the classroom teaching in the Three Village Central School District.
Completing the district's central office administrative appointments is Kassandra Nitti, who has been named director of technology. She previously served as the district's assistant director of technology, where she played an integral role in supporting instructional and districtwide initiatives.
"These administrators bring exceptional educational leadership, a strong commitment to supporting all students and a collaborative approach to working alongside our faculty and staff," Superintendent of Schools Gerard Poole said. "We are excited to welcome them to their new roles and look forward to the positive impact they will have across our district.”
Additionally, the upcoming school year will see leadership changes at Albert G. Prodell Middle School. Current Miller Avenue School Principal Claudia Smith has been appointed principal of the middle school, where she looks forward to reconnecting with many former students and families. Jonathan Lilla, currently an assistant principal at Shoreham-Wading River High School, has been named assistant principal at Albert G. Prodell Middle School.
Christopher Molinelli will be stepping into the role of principal at Miller Avenue Elementary School. Mr. Molinelli previously served as a K-2 principal in the Deer Park School District where he drove meaningful gains in student achievement, strengthened systems of support for instruction and student behavior and built school-wide initiatives that support the social and emotional well-being of students. His work has been recognized with state-level distinction for excellence in school leadership. Notably, Mr. Molinelli and his family are proud residents of the Shoreham-Wading River community.
With these appointments, the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District looks forward to building on its tradition of excellence and providing strong leadership for students, staff and families.
