Three Students Named All-State Musicians

Shoreham-Wading River Central School District is proud to recognize three outstanding student musicians whose talent, dedication and years of hard work have earned them prestigious spots in the 2026 New York State School Music Association All-State Honors Ensembles.
Junior Kai Hidaka has been selected for the All-State String Orchestra for violin, senior Spencer Lee will also join the All-State String Orchestra for cello and senior Kate McQuade has been selected for the All-State Mixed Choir, where she will perform as a soprano 1.
Being selected for an All-State ensemble is a significant accomplishment and represents the culmination of years of practice, perseverance and commitment to their craft. Kai, Spencer and Kate have dedicated countless hours to developing their musical skills, making this statewide recognition an especially meaningful achievement.
The students will join some of the most accomplished student-musicians from across New York State at the 2026 NYSSMA All-State Winter Conference, taking place Dec. 3-6 in Rochester.
