The Shoreham-Wading River School District’s 6th Grade Treble Choir, directed by Albert G. Prodell Middle School music teacher John Samonte, attended the Long Island Music Festival on May 31 where they earned the highest ranking of “Superior.” The choir’s outstanding performance was evaluated by esteemed adjudicators, including Dr. Cindy Bell from Hofstra University and Dr. Robert Jordan from Adelphi University.

Following their performance, the students participated in a workshop with Dr. Jordan, further enriching their musical experience. This workshop provided valuable insights and personalized feedback that will undoubtedly contribute to the choir’s ongoing development.

“We commend these young musicians for their dedication, hard work and exceptional talent,” said Mr. Samonte. “Their achievement reflects the high standards of our music program and the support of our dedicated faculty and community.”

The Shoreham-Wading River School District extends a special thanks to WHAM for sponsoring the choir and providing matching music T-shirts for the festival. We look forward to the students’ continued success and many more outstanding performances in the future.
