With an agenda filled with pertinent information and accolades for staff members who reached milestone anniversaries, the District commenced the start of the 2024-25 school year on Sept. 3 during its Superintendent’s Conference Day.

The morning began with a continental breakfast and catching up with fellow staff members, before the SWR educational community was welcomed into the SWR High School auditorium to begin the new school year. With a backdrop of photos of smiling staff members, Shoreham-Wading River High School senior Liam McQuade performed the national anthem to great applause.

District retirees, those who reached a 25-year milestone (Kerrianne Anderson, Walter Caskie, Michael DiBartolomeo, Ralph Jimenez, Ann-Marie Kalin, Alphonse Koll, Jennifer Larsen, Salvatore Rosato, Jill Stevenson, Geraldine Visconti, Erin Wills and Renee Zuhoski) and Alumni Staff Hall of Fame inductees were recognized.

The conference also included staff reporting to their respective buildings for professional development programs and workshops in preparation for opening day tomorrow, Sept. 4.
