Shoreham-Wading River High School art teacher Samantha Shepard and junior Megan Pendzick participated in the New York State Art Teachers Association’s Region 9 and 10 Kindred Spirits student/teacher exhibition. This is the first time SWR has been involved in this show that invites teachers to showcase their work alongside the work of one student, emphasizing how they are connected through their creativity and art practice.
Megan created the ramen soup cup, which is titled “Go-To Dinner”, and Ms. Shepard’s work is the bag of coffee titled “Faux-Flux.”
“These were from a project I do with students in Creative Crafts where they have to recreate a food item out of felt,” Ms. Shepard said.
This year’s Kindred Spirits art show is on display until March 10th at the Firefly Artist Gallery in Northport.
