Shoreham-Wading River High School’s AP Human Geography visited the Tenement Museum on Orchid Street in New York City where they learned about the struggles of two immigrant families who came to the city 100 years apart.
“Students were able to see first-hand what life was like for these families in cramped tenements and how they had to adjust to new customs, traditions and language while balancing work and family life,” said social studies teacher Erica Scully.
