Shoreham-Wading River High School math students and math teacher Ellen Fraser visited the Simons Center for Geometry and Physics at Stony Brook University on April 23. The field trip included a lecture for high school students “Math is the Source Code of Human Mind” presented by Mathematician Edward Vladimirovich Frenkel, who works in representation theory, algebraic geometry and mathematical physics. He is a professor of mathematics at the University of California, Berkeley. Before the talk they visited the art exhibition “Flows of Reflectivity” in the Simons Center Gallery. They were provided with a picnic lunch after the question-and-answer session that followed the talk.
