Criminal Justice Students Visit Police Exhibits

Students in Shoreham-Wading River High School’s fall and spring semester Criminal Justice classes visited the Suffolk County Police Department headquarters in Yaphank for its annual Police Week demonstrations and exhibits on April 29. They were accompanied by teacher Ruth Squillace.

More than 1,000 students from across Suffolk County joined police officers at various exhibits that included a mock crime scene and CPR and NARCAN training. They also had an opportunity to speak with helicopter pilots, view the interior of an ambulance, try on SWAT gear, check out police robotics equipment, watch an exhibition of police vehicles and police dogs and try to lift the jaws of life hydraulic rescue tool.
