The boys winter track and field team won the league championship on Jan. 21. Notable performances by individuals included:
* Patrick Shea and Spencer Lee worked together to bring home a second and third-place finish in the 2-mile run.
* Michael Huebner and Patrick Morano took first and fourth in the 1000-meter run. Michael outright won against the third fastest cross-country runner in Suffolk County while Patrick Morano turned heads with a big three-second personal best.
* Jarrell Winston outperformed the competition with a second-place finish in the 600-meter run.
* Jake Smith put down the hammer in the 1600-meter run with a big second place finish.
* Michael Huebner won a big second-place finish in the 300-meter.
* Jake Smith placed in the triple jump with a fourth-place finish.
* Cameron Sheedy had a fifth-place finish in the Shot Put.
* Logan Jung, won both the high jump and the long jump. Logan was the lead scorer to help bring Shoreham the win. Excellent work Logan!
Additionally, the 4x 200 team relay team – Kyle Cavaliere, Logan Jung, Jaden Montes and Nick Friedlander – had a second-place finish and a three-second personal best for the relay team.
Lastly, the 4x800 relay team – Patrick Shea, Noah Wyszomierski, Jarrell Winston and Jake Smith – along with the 4x800 relay team – Patrick Morano, James Minetti, Spencer Lee and Michael Huebner – came in first and second-place to win the meet by just seven points.
