The newest students to enter the Shoreham-Wading River School District were welcomed to Miller Avenue School on August 28. The 2024-25 kindergarten students and their parents met in groups with Principal Claudia Smith for an overview of the exciting things to look forward to during the school year during the orientation session. The students met new friends and took walking tours to the library, gymnasium, art room, main office, nurse’s office and playground.

The students also took a bus ride so the children could familiarize themselves with their new school and staff members, while forming their first connections with the Shoreham-Wading River school community prior to starting school on Wednesday, Sept. 4.
